According to eyewitness accounts, the lighting inside the shopping and entertainment centre went out, leaving a large part of the premises in darkness.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, reports of power cuts began to come in from residents in other parts of the capital.<\/p>\n<p>Some users mention not only a complete <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/suspilstvo\/ekstreni-vidklyuchennya-svitla-kyiv\/\">power outage<\/a>, but also about unstable voltage \u2014 the light may flicker or go out and come back on briefly.<\/p>\n<h2>No planned restrictions were forecast for 4 October<\/h2>\n<p>The day before, Ukrenergo reported that no measures to restrict electricity consumption in Ukraine were planned for Sunday, 4 October. At the same time, the system operator warned that the situation could change, particularly due to the consequences of Russian attacks.<\/p>\n<p>The DTEK website provides a separate check for Kyiv, allowing users to view local emergency, scheduled and stabilisation power cuts at a specific address.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of writing, no official reason had been given for the evening power cuts in the capital.<\/p>\n<h2>What to do if the voltage starts to \u00abfluctuate\u00bb<\/h2>\n<p>In the event of power supply fluctuations, the first priority should be to protect your household appliances. The State Emergency Service recommends that, in the event of a power cut, you unplug electrical appliances or switch off the fuses. This helps to reduce the risk of damage to appliances when the power is suddenly restored.<\/p>\n<p>DTEK also advises against switching on water heaters, electric hobs, washing machines, heaters and other high-power appliances all at once once the power has been restored. It is better to switch them on gradually so as not to place a sudden strain on the grid.<\/p>\n<p>If the voltage continues to fluctuate sharply, it is best to temporarily leave sensitive electronic
