According to this information, they include senior long-range aviation officers linked to the planning or execution of flights against Ukraine. According to these sources, the group included two lieutenant-colonels and two majors.<\/p>\n<p>OSINT analysts claim that at least three of the named military personnel were involved in organising, providing logistical support for, or directly carrying out flights by the Russian strategic air force against Ukraine. However, these claims do not establish that each of them was involved in specific strikes.<\/p>\n<p>Publicly available databases separately contain details of the ranks of the two officers mentioned. Fedir Pavliukov is listed as a lieutenant-colonel, squadron commander and deputy commander for flight training at the 182nd Heavy Bomber Aviation Regiment. Andriy Gerasimov is listed as a major and squadron commander. <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/world\/tu-95ms-crash-amur-russia\/\">Tu-95MS<\/a> the 121st Heavy Bomber Aviation Regiment, in connection with combat sorties.<\/p>\n<h2>Russia has stated that there were seven people on board and is investigating the cause of the crash<\/h2>\n<p>The aircraft crashed near the village of Krasnoyarovo after taking off from the area around the \u00abUkrainka\u00bb airbase. The Russian Ministry of Defence stated that the bomber was on a training flight without any munitions, and that the crash site was uninhabited.<\/p>\n<p>According to the official account, six crew members were killed, whilst another was taken to hospital with injuries. A commission from the Russian Aerospace Forces is investigating the cause of the crash. Unofficial Russian reports have suggested a fault with the engines or the fuel system, but no final conclusion has been announced.<\/p>\n<h2>The Tu-95MS is being used to carry out missile strikes on Ukraine<\/h2>\n<p>The Tu-95MS is one of Russia\u2019s main strategic bombers, from which Russia launches long-range cruise missiles at Ukraine. Following Ukraine\u2019s \u00abPavutina\u00bb operation, Russia relocated part of its surviving strategic air force to the remote \u00abUkrainka\u00bb airbase in the Amur Region.<\/p>\n<p>As of 4 October, the loss of the bomber and the deaths of at least six members of its crew remain confirmed.
