The client set the following task: to organise the space, avoid clutter and ensure that goods could be found quickly.<\/p>\n<p>FORSTOR has been fitting out warehouses for over 17 years, so its specialists were able to find a solution quickly. As the client handles goods on pallets, we selected pallet racking for them, as well as combined pallet and shelving units to store not only palletised goods but also loose items, which are also part of the client\u2019s product range.<\/p>\n<h2>Manufacture of pallet racking for storing goods in a warehouse<\/h2>\n<p>To. <a href=\"https:\/\/forstor.ua\/ua\/ca-stellazhi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>warehouse shelving<\/u><\/a> As the manufacturer, FORSTOR dealt with all the tasks at once, whilst the company\u2019s staff carried out several preparatory tasks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>determined the ceiling height, the total area of the warehouse and the available square metres for the installation of storage systems;<\/li>\n<li>we analysed the working conditions, taking particular account of the fact that it is important for customers to be able to find products on the shelves quickly;<\/li>\n<li>We drew up a preliminary design and agreed it with the client.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To optimise storage space, it was decided to install Profi series front-access pallet racking to the full height of the ceiling. As the client\u2019s goods consist of construction tools, consumables and building mixes, one tier was designed to withstand a load of up to 3,300 kg.<\/p>\n<p>The storage system also included 2,700 mm-long beams designed to accommodate three Euro pallets. In accordance with European standards (EN 15512) and DSTU, the racking was designed with a safety margin and was tested with a higher critical load.<\/p>\n<h2>The strength and practicality of shelving units<\/h2>\n<p>The specialists took into account not only the floor area of the premises, but also the fact that the client\u2019s company makes extensive use of machinery, in particular forklift trucks. With this in mind, it was decided to manufacture shelving units with reinforced protection.<\/p>\n<p>The designs had to withstand collisions with machinery, save space and further speed up the process of finding goods. This was achieved thanks to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>fitting protective guards to the shelving \u2014 not just at the ends, but also individually on each upright;<\/li>\n<li>the fabrication of structures, taking into account the available space, so that there is sufficient room for machinery;<\/li>\n<li>adjusting the height of the uprights.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These ready-made solutions have done more than just optimise the available space. The racking systems have significantly speeded up handling of goods thanks to organised storage and automated solutions.<\/p>\n<h2>Pallet-and-shelf racking for individual items<\/h2>\n<p>As the warehouse space was insufficient to store all the goods, the client needed to create more space for other items as well. To facilitate the storage of boxes containing tools and packs of mixtures, FORSTOR\u2019s specialists developed specialised pallet-and-shelf racking systems.<\/p>\n<p>During the design phase, six storage levels were incorporated, and the racking system itself was constructed to a height of 11,000 mm. The top five levels were set aside for palletised goods, whilst the bottom level was reserved for individual items, so that they could be easily accessed. The racking system itself has the following specifications:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>frame depth 1,100 mm \u2014 standard for EUR pallets (800 \u00d7 1,200 mm);<\/li>\n<li>beam length 2,700 mm \u2014 to accommodate 3 Euro pallets;<\/li>\n<li>Corner and front protective elements to prevent impacts from the wheels of machinery.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This has therefore made it possible to utilise the warehouse\u2019s vertical space as efficiently as possible.
