The Speaker of Parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk, stated that sessions will continue to be held at the building at 5 Hrushevsky Street for as long as this remains physically possible. According to him, measures are being developed separately to enable MPs to work more safely in the capital.<\/p>\n<div class=\"news-summary-box\"><strong>Briefly about the main points<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Verkhovna Rada has no plans to move out of Kyiv.<\/li>\n<li>Stefanchuk stated that parliament would continue to work for as long as it was physically possible.<\/li>\n<li>He described the creation of safe working conditions for MPs as the main priority.<\/li>\n<li>The Speaker denied that there were plans to move Parliament to Lviv.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Parliament will remain on Hrushevsky Street<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Stefanchuk<\/strong> He made the statement during a visit to Lviv, whilst answering a question about the possible relocation of the Verkhovna Rada\u2019s work from the capital. According to him, parliament has been sitting on Hrushevsky Street since the start of the full-scale invasion, and there are no plans to change this at present.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasised that meetings would be held there for as long as physical and security conditions permitted.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u00abWe will hold meetings there for as long as it is physically possible.\u00bb.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Stefanchuk also attributed this to the requirements of the Verkhovna Rada\u2019s rules of procedure.<\/p>\n<h2>They will be working separately on the safety of MPs<\/h2>\n<p>The Speaker of Parliament noted that one of the key tasks at present is to establish such <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/economics\/bunker-verhovna-rada-263-mln\/\">conditions<\/a>, under which MPs will be able to continue their work in Kyiv despite the threat of missiles and drones.<\/p>\n<p>He also stated that there are currently no plans for any \u00abexotic trips\u00bb or for the parliament to be relocated. When asked directly about a possible move to Lviv, Stefanchuk replied that there were no such plans.<\/p>\n<h2>Rumours about the Rada\u2019s relocation have already been denied<\/h2>\n<p>Stefanchuk made a similar statement on 28 September. On that occasion, he also emphasised that the Verkhovna Rada would continue to operate in Kyiv and urged people not to spread unconfirmed information about an alleged possible relocation to Lviv.<\/p>\n<p>The issue of parliamentary security has once again come to the fore following the night-time attack on Kyiv on 7 October.
