The document prohibits prolonged and aimless offensive or abusive behaviour towards the company\u2019s models, in particular Claude.<\/p>\n<div class=\"news-summary-box\">\n<p><strong>Briefly about the main points<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Anthropic\u2019s new rules will come into force on 12 November 2026.<\/li>\n<li>The ban applies to prolonged and gratuitous cruelty towards models.<\/li>\n<li>Criticism, irritation, experimentation and sombre creative themes are permitted.<\/li>\n<li>Claude can end an individual chat, but this is not the same as blocking an account.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2>What behaviour does the new rule cover?<\/h2>\n<p>According to the report <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/science-tech\/anthropic-nova-ai-model-gpt-6-astra\/\">Anthropic<\/a>, <strong>The rule is intended to cover exceptional cases of repeated offensive or cruel behaviour without any apparent purpose<\/strong>. The exact wording of the policy applies to all Anthropic models, not just Claude.<\/p>\n<p>The updated Usage Policy will apply to users of Claude.ai and Claude Code, as well as to developers and companies that work with the models via the API, cloud providers, resellers or integrations.<\/p>\n<h2>Criticism of AI is not prohibited<\/h2>\n<p>The company specifically noted that the new rule is not intended to penalise users for ordinary irritation, disagreement or harsh criticism of the model\u2019s responses. Dark creative themes, as well as testing and research involving the models, also fall outside its stated scope.<\/p>\n<p>In the event of suspected breaches of Anthropic\u2019s Usage Policy, the company may issue a warning to the user, impose restrictions on usage limits or access, or suspend or terminate the provision of services. At the same time, the company states that the primary measure it takes in response to systematically offensive interactions is to terminate the specific conversation with Claude.<\/p>\n<p>Ending a chat is not the same as blocking the entire account: the user can start another conversation afterwards. Anthropic previously introduced this feature for Claude Opus 4 and 4.1 in rare, extreme cases of prolonged harmful or abusive interaction.<\/p>\n<h2>What else has Anthropic changed?<\/h2>\n<p>The update also systematises or clarifies restrictions on misleading campaigns and artificial activity, interference in democratic processes, the creation of weapons, unauthorised surveillance, high-risk recommendations and autonomous physical actions. For specific applications in medicine, finance and law, the policy provides for qualified human oversight and transparency regarding the use of AI.<\/p>\n<p>Anthropic links the new rule and the ability to end individual chats to its research into the potential well-being of AI.
