According to the monitoring channel Exilenova+, the target of the attack was the Redkinsky Research Plant — a specialised chemical industry enterprise whose products are used by the Russian military-industrial complex.

Local residents captured footage of the sounds of drone engines, explosions and attempts by Russian air defences to intercept aerial targets. However, the footage does not allow for a reliable assessment of the extent of the damage to the production buildings or equipment.

There is currently no official information regarding the number of affected sites, production stoppages or casualties.

What does the Redkinsky Research Plant produce?

The Redkinsky Research Plant specialises in the production of chemical components used in the fuel, aviation and other industrial sectors. Of particular importance is the manufacture of components for the special hydrocarbon fuel «Decilin-M».

According to Ukrainian sources, the company manufactures products related to the operation of the Kh-55 and Kh-101 cruise missiles.

The plant’s production areas include:

components of the «Decilin-M» special rocket fuel;

additives for diesel fuel;

additives for aviation kerosene;

other specialised chemical products for industrial use.

The company is subject to US and UK sanctions. Its products are used in the supply chains of the Russian missile and aviation industries.

Why are fuel components important for the Kh-101 and Kh-55 missiles?

The Kh-101 and Kh-55 cruise missiles are long-range airborne weapons. Russian forces are using X-101 missiles to carry out attacks on Ukraine, in particular on energy and civilian infrastructure facilities.

Such missiles require specialised fuel, the properties of which meet the requirements of aircraft engines and long-duration flight. The production of the relevant chemical components forms a separate part of the production chain.

Therefore, any potential disruption to such a facility could affect the supply of the relevant materials.

У ніч проти 9 жовтня 2026 року
