The suspects are a 39-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman who, according to the investigation, attacked the victim with a kitchen knife, inflicting numerous wounds, before fleeing the country. The crime took place on 27 September 2026 in the Vajnory district, and the victim\u2019s body was discovered the following morning near a residential building. According to the investigation, during the attack, the victim sustained numerous stab wounds to various parts of his body.<\/p>\n<p>The following morning, 28 September, shortly after 07:00, the body of a man showing no signs of life was found on the lawn in front of a residential building. Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene and launched an investigation under the section of the Criminal Code relating to particularly serious offences \u2014 murder.<\/p>\n<p>The case was referred to the criminal police of the Bratislava Region. During the investigation, the police established the circumstances of the attack and identified two individuals believed to be involved in the man\u2019s death.<\/p>\n<h2>Two Ukrainian nationals are accused of murder<\/h2>\n<p>On 6 October, a representative of the regional police <strong>Michal Shaiff<\/strong> reported that investigators had brought charges against a 39-year-old man with the initials Y. H. and a 46-year-old woman, M. B. Both are Ukrainian nationals.<\/p>\n<p>According to the investigation, they jointly took part in the attack and inflicted fatal wounds on the victim with a kitchen knife. The case has been classified as a particularly serious murder committed in concert.<\/p>\n<p>Law enforcement officers established that, following the offence, the defendants left the scene and subsequently travelled outside Slovakia. As they were absent, charges were brought against them in their absence.<\/p>\n<h2>International arrest warrants have been issued for the suspects<\/h2>\n<p>Slovak law enforcement authorities have launched an international manhunt for a man and a woman. International arrest warrants have been issued for both of them, allowing for their arrest outside the country.<\/p>\n<p>At the time the police released the information, there had been no reports of a search for the accused. Nor was it specified which country they might have fled to following the murder.<\/p>\n<p>According to a police spokesperson, the evidence gathered during the investigation formed the basis for bringing charges. However, the investigation is ongoing, and the final decision on the suspects\u2019 guilt is to be made by the court.<\/p>\n<h2>What punishment do the defendants face?<\/h2>\n<p>Under Slovak law, if found guilty of particularly serious murder as defined by the relevant legal classification, the accused faces a prison sentence of between 15 and 20 years.<\/p>\n<p>Going forward, investigators must establish all the circumstances of the crime and ensure that the suspects take part in the criminal proceedings. The question of their possible arrest and extradition will depend on the country in which they are found.<\/p>\n<p>Until a court\u2019s conviction becomes final, both individuals are presumed
