According to Axios, the Ukrainian leader has asked Washington to clarify exactly when the cessation of mutual attacks on energy infrastructure is due to begin. Zelenskyy confirmed Ukraine\u2019s readiness for such an agreement, but emphasised the need for Russia to take similar steps.<\/p>\n<div class=\"news-summary-box\">\n<p><strong>Briefly about the main points<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The President of Ukraine has asked for clarification on the date on which the agreement is due to come into force.<\/li>\n<li>On 11 October, Trump stated that Ukraine and Russia had agreed to halt attacks on energy infrastructure.<\/li>\n<li>Ukraine is prepared to halt attacks on Russian oil refineries, provided Moscow takes reciprocal action.<\/li>\n<li>The officially agreed terms and the mechanism for monitoring the ceasefire remain unknown.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Zelenskyy has responded to Trump\u2019s announcement of a ceasefire<\/h2>\n<p>President of Ukraine <strong>Volodymyr Zelenskyy<\/strong> commented on the statement <strong>Donald Trump<\/strong> regarding the immediate <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/main-news\/tramp-enerhetychne-peremyria-ukraina-rosiya-11-zhovtnia\/\">cessation of mutual attacks<\/a> on energy facilities in Ukraine and Russia.<\/p>\n<p>The Ukrainian President stated that <strong>is hearing for the first time about the energy truce that has already been announced<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abIf President Trump has agreed on this with Putin, please let us know when the ceasefire comes into effect,\u00bb Zelenskyy said, according to the report.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the Head of State emphasised that Ukraine is prepared to support a mutual cessation of attacks, provided that Russia also stops attacking Ukraine\u2019s energy infrastructure. Kyiv\u2019s position remains unchanged: the cessation of attacks must apply to both sides and must not entail unilateral restrictions on Ukraine.<\/p>\n<h2>Trump has called for an immediate energy truce<\/h2>\n<p>On 11 October, US President Donald Trump posted a message on the social media platform Truth Social claiming that an agreement had been reached between Kyiv and Moscow.<\/p>\n<p>The US leader stated that both countries had agreed to cease attacks on energy facilities and that the relevant arrangements should come into effect immediately. Trump also called on the parties not to breach the agreement.<\/p>\n<p>However, the US President\u2019s statement did not specify the duration of the ceasefire, the exact list of targets to which it applies, or the mechanism for monitoring compliance with its terms.<\/p>\n<p>The lack of these details, as well as Zelenskyy\u2019s reaction, have cast doubt on the actual status of the announced agreement.<\/p>\n<h2>Ukraine is ready for a ceasefire, but insists on reciprocity<\/h2>\n<p>Earlier, on 11 October, Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed Ukraine\u2019s readiness to cease<a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/world\/syzranskyi-npz-ataka-tahanroh-zavod-beriieva\/\"> attacks on Russian oil refineries<\/a>, provided that Moscow halts its attacks on Ukraine\u2019s energy infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>The President emphasised that any steps towards reducing the intensity of hostilities must be reciprocal and accompanied by genuine guarantees. Zelenskyy expressed a similar position in an interview with the American television channel ABC News. He stated that Ukraine is ready to begin de-escalation by starting with an energy
