One of the Shahed-type drones struck a residential block of flats in the Kyivskyi district of the city. As a result of the strike, floors seven to nine in one of the blocks were destroyed and a fire broke out. According to updated figures from the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, 11 people were affected, including a 10-year-old boy. Three people were injured, whilst a further eight suffered acute stress reactions.<\/p>\n<div class=\"news-summary-box\">\n<p><strong>Briefly about the main points<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Russian \u00abShahed\u00bb struck a high-rise residential block in the Kyivskyi district of Kharkiv.<\/li>\n<li>In one of the blocks, three floors \u2014 from the seventh to the ninth \u2014 have been destroyed.<\/li>\n<li>The number of people affected has risen from five to 11.<\/li>\n<li>Search and rescue operations are continuing at the site of the strike.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2>A Russian drone destroyed the upper floors of a residential block<\/h2>\n<p>On Monday, 12 October, at around 08:40, Russian forces carried out a drone strike on the Kyivskyi district of Kharkiv.<\/p>\n<p>Mayor of the city <strong>Igor Terekhov<\/strong> He initially reported that a strike had hit near a high-rise block or directly into it. He later clarified that the strike had in fact hit the residential block itself.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of a drone strike on one of the building\u2019s entrances, the structures on the seventh, eighth and ninth floors were destroyed. A fire broke out on the upper floors of the building. Thick smoke rose from the site of the strike.<\/p>\n<p>Rescue workers, medical staff and other emergency services have been called in to deal with the aftermath. Experts are carrying out search and rescue operations and inspecting the damaged premises.<\/p>\n<h2>Among the 11 people injured is a 10-year-old boy<\/h2>\n<p>Initially, the mayor of Kharkiv reported that five people had been injured as a result of the strike on a high-rise building.<\/p>\n<p>Head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration <strong>Oleg Sinegubov<\/strong> He clarified that paramedics had treated two women aged 74 and 80, two men aged 36 and 74, and a 10-year-old boy. The number of casualties subsequently rose to 11.<\/p>\n<p>According to updated information from the regional military administration, three people were injured and a further eight suffered acute stress reactions. Medical assistance was provided to all those affected directly at the scene of the attack.<\/p>\n<h2>At least five explosions were recorded in the Kyiv district of Kharkiv<\/h2>\n<p>The attack on a residential block of flats was part of a series of Russian strikes on the Kyiv district <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/viyna\/udar-kharkivska-tets-5-enerhetychne-peremyria\/\">Kharkiv<\/a> on the morning of 12 October. According to the city authorities, as of 09:40, at least five strikes had been recorded in the area.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to a residential building, a Russian drone attacked a sports centre. According to Oleg Synehubov, no requests for medical assistance were received following this strike.<\/p>\n<p>A drone was also reported to have crashed on the grounds of a private property. As a result, the fence and window panes were damaged.
