In Lviv, law enforcement officers are investigating a series of thefts and frauds, the victims of which were patrons of nightlife venues. Three men lost a total of nearly 3.15 million hryvnias from their bank accounts following a night out. The hardest-hit victim was a 37-year-old man, from whose card, according to the investigation, over 2.3 million hryvnias were fraudulently withdrawn. On 16 October 2026, the police carried out 17 authorised searches at three night-time venues, in vehicles and at the homes of individuals linked to these establishments. Law enforcement officers seized digital equipment, documents and other evidence. Those involved in the crimes could face up to 12 years\u2019 imprisonment with confiscation of property.<\/p>\n
In Lviv, police are investigating cases of the unlawful misappropriation of funds belonging to customers of night-time entertainment venues. According to the Lviv Regional Police, the investigation has identified three incidents in which men aged between 36 and 40 lost substantial sums from their bank cards.<\/p>\n

According to law enforcement authorities, the total amount of losses stands at almost 3,150,000 hryvnias.<\/p>\n
The police did not specify exactly how unauthorised individuals gained access to visitors\u2019 bank accounts.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, the official statement does not confirm the suggestion that the victims may have taken drugs or other substances that could have affected their memory.<\/p>\n
On 16 October, investigators from Lviv District Police Station No. 1, together with officers from the Criminal Investigation Department and with the support of a police special operations unit, carried out a large-scale investigation. In total, the law enforcement officers carried out 17 authorised searches.<\/p>\n
Investigative measures were carried out at three night-time entertainment venues in Lviv, in four vehicles and at the residential addresses of individuals linked to the operation of these venues. During the searches, computers, other digital equipment, documentation, draft records and items that may be of evidential value were seized.<\/p>\n
Photographs released by the police show patrons at one of the entertainment venues and law enforcement officers carrying out investigative procedures. The seized items will be examined as part of the criminal proceedings to establish the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of the money.<\/p>\n
One of the key facts that the investigation must establish is how access was gained to the victims\u2019 bank accounts.<\/p>\n
Law enforcement agencies have not yet disclosed any technical details, nor have they stated whether the transactions were carried out via payment terminals, banking apps or other means. It is therefore premature to claim that the money was stolen using a specific fraudulent scheme.<\/p>\n
The amounts written off indicate the significant scale of the financial losses. The sum lost by a 37-year-old visitor is particularly large: over 2.3 million hryvnias from his bank card.<\/p>\n
The investigation must establish exactly who carried out the transactions, whether they were linked, and what role individuals working in entertainment venues may have played.<\/p>\n
