Trump links them to growth <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/world\/trump-russian-diesel-execution-ice\/\">fuel prices in the US<\/a> and is calling on Kyiv to halt the attacks. The system, developed by Elon Musk\u2019s SpaceX, provides satellite communications.<\/p>\n<p>The disruptions affected the operation of Ukrainian drones and military communications, in particular the control of drones and the coordination of operations. Some of the functionality was subsequently restored. The following day, Trump denied that he or <strong>Musk<\/strong> were involved in the restrictions, although this contradicts information from Reuters sources.<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine\u2019s European partners are also concerned about the situation: according to the agency, their satellite systems are not capable of quickly and fully replacing the American communications and reconnaissance equipment used by the Ukrainian military.<\/p>\n<h2>Kyiv continues to maintain contact with Washington amidst disagreements over sanctions<\/h2>\n<p>On 16 October, Trump signed an executive order allowing for the non-application of some of the new sanctions and tariffs provided for by the law <strong>Lindsay Graham<\/strong>. The law, signed in September 2026, was intended to increase economic pressure on Russia and on countries helping it to circumvent sanctions. The US President cited national security interests; the restrictions imposed earlier remain in force.<\/p>\n<p>Zelenskyy called on partners to support the imposition of new US sanctions, which, in his view, could increase pressure on Moscow. Two Ukrainian officials told Reuters that Kyiv is keen to maintain contact with the US President\u2019s special envoy <strong>Steve Witkoff<\/strong> \u0456 <strong>Jared Kushner<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Charg\u00e9 d\u2019Affaires ad interim of Ukraine in Washington <strong>Denis Senik<\/strong> stated that Kyiv was prepared to take part in negotiations with Russia.
