In Ukraine, the \u00abAir Raid Alert\u00bb app has been updated to include a map showing the approximate trajectories of Russian missiles and drones. The new feature allows users to see the approximate locations and directions of air threats during attacks. The map will display strike drones, including jet-powered ones, cruise missiles, guided aerial bombs and \u00abBanderole\u00bb-type missiles. Information for the service will be provided by the Ukrainian military. Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi announced the launch of the new feature on 17 October 2026. At the same time, the developers emphasise that the map does not show the exact location of targets in real time and does not replace the need to take immediate shelter during an air raid alert.<\/p>\n

Now they can also view a map showing the approximate path of the threats.<\/p>\n It shows several types of weaponry used by Russian troops in their attacks on Ukraine:<\/p>\n The main difference with the new feature is that users will be able to see not only areas where an alert has been issued, but also the approximate movement of individual airborne threats.<\/p>\n The new map was developed jointly by the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the Ministry of Defence, the Ukrainian Air Force and Ukrainian IT companies.<\/p>\n According to the government, its main aim is to provide Ukrainians with information that has been verified by the military.<\/p>\n Prime Minister Sergey Koretsky<\/strong> emphasised that, during Russian attacks, the speed at which warnings are received has a direct impact on people\u2019s safety.<\/p>\n \u00abDuring air raids, every minute counts when it comes to people\u2019s safety.\u00bb.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The introduction of the map should reduce the need to search for information on air threats from various unofficial sources.<\/p>\n At the same time, the new feature is not a publicly accessible military radar surveillance system. Users will only be provided with information that is intended for public display.<\/p>\n A distinctive feature of the new function is that it does not display ballistic missiles. Unlike many attack drones, such missiles travel at extremely high speeds. As a result, the time between the detection of a threat and a potential strike can be very short. Showing their approximate trajectory with a delay would risk creating a false impression of the current danger.<\/p>\n That is precisely why, in the event of a threat of ballistic missile attack, it is particularly important to respond immediately to an official warning, without wasting time looking at a map.<\/p>\n Despite the introduction of a new feature, The map does not show the exact coordinates<\/strong> Russian drones and missiles in real time. This was specifically emphasised by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.<\/p>\n Information about aerial targets is for guidance only. The actual location of a drone or missile may differ from that shown on the screen. Furthermore, cruise missiles and drones are capable of changing course.
