On 20 October 2026, in the village of Chabany in the Kyiv region, according to reports from local Telegram channels, cars on the carriageway caught fire after a Russian drone crashed. Footage circulating online shows at least two cars engulfed in flames and thick black smoke. Eyewitnesses report possible fatalities. It is provisionally claimed that the fire was caused by the crash of a jet-powered strike drone. The circumstances of the incident and details of those affected are being clarified.<\/p>\n

On the morning of 20 October, local news channels broadcast footage of a fire on a motorway, stating that the incident had taken place near Kyiv, in the village of Chabany in the Fastiv district.<\/p>\n

In the video, filmed from above, two cars can be seen engulfed in flames. Thick black smoke is rising from one of the vehicles, whilst separate pockets of fire are visible on the road surface nearby. According to preliminary reports, a Russian drone crashed on a section of the road where civilian vehicles were present.<\/p>\n

Currently One person is reported to have been killed and four others injured<\/strong> as a result of an attack by a Russian drone.<\/p>\n

There are reports of possible fatalities<\/h2>\n

Reports have emerged on social media of possible casualties resulting from the car fires. However, at the time of writing, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the Kyiv Region Police had not released any confirmed figures on the number of fatalities or injuries specifically in relation to this incident.<\/p>\n
