This was announced on 20 October by Vitaliy Postrygan, head of the Cherkasy Regional Centre for Hydrometeorology. The warmer weather will be accompanied by localised rain, fog and stronger winds in some regions.<\/p>\n<div class=\"news-summary-box\">\n<p><strong>Briefly about the main points<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Warm weather in Ukraine is forecast to continue until 25 October.<\/li>\n<li>It will be warmest in the south and in Zakarpattia \u2014 reaching up to +22\u00b0C in places.<\/li>\n<li>The Gerhard high-pressure system will bring sunny spells and southerly air currents.<\/li>\n<li>Rain is likely on the Right Bank and in the north-east, with fog at night and in the morning.<\/li>\n<li>Temperatures in Kyiv are forecast to reach +15\u2026+17\u00b0C during the day, and up to +18\u00b0C in the Kyiv region.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2>A high-pressure system and southerly winds are bringing a change in the weather<\/h2>\n<p>Following a spell of cloudy weather, rain and fog, the Gerhard high-pressure system is beginning to affect Ukraine. According to <strong>Vitaliy Postrygan<\/strong>, it will help to stabilise atmospheric processes and increase the number of sunny spells.<\/p>\n<p>Warm air masses will flow in from the Mediterranean and the Balkans, whilst the inflow of cold Arctic air will be limited by the end of the week. Last weekend <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/lifestyle\/weather-changes-what-to-expect-in-ukraine\/\">average daily temperature<\/a> ranged from +12 to +14\u00b0C \u2014 approximately 5 degrees above the climatic average; such temperatures are more typical of the second half of September.<\/p>\n<h2>The south and Zakarpattia will be the warmest<\/h2>\n<p>According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre, on 21 October, daytime temperatures in most regions will range from +12 to +17\u00b0C. In Zakarpattia and the southern regions, temperatures will reach +20\u00b0C.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday and Friday, 22\u201323 October, temperatures are expected to range from +6 to +14\u00b0C at night and from +12 to +18\u00b0C during the day. In the south, and on 22 October also in Zakarpattia, temperatures may reach +20 to +22\u00b0C in some places.<\/p>\n<h2>Rain, fog and gusts of wind will persist in some areas<\/h2>\n<p>The warmer weather will not mean dry conditions across the whole country. On 20 October, weather fronts will bring rainfall mainly to the Right Bank and the south, whilst heavy rain is possible in some parts of the south-western regions.<\/p>\n<p>On 21 October, light rain is forecast in some regions, and fog is expected in places during the night and in the morning. For 22\u201323 October, the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre forecasts light to moderate rain in a number of regions on the Right Bank and in the north-east.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, gusts of wind reaching 15\u201320 m\/s are expected in some parts of the western regions, as well as in the Zhytomyr and Vinnytsia regions.<\/p>\n<h2>A relatively mild autumn is set to continue in Kyiv and the surrounding region<\/h2>\n<p>In Kyiv, night-time temperatures are expected to be mainly between +9 and +11\u00b0C over the next few days, whilst daytime temperatures will be between +15 and +17\u00b0C. There may be brief showers and fog in the capital.<\/p>\n<p>Temperatures in the Kyiv region are forecast to be between +6 and +11\u00b0C at night and between +13 and +18\u00b0C during the day. The rise in temperature may temporarily reduce the need for space heating, although actual energy consumption will depend on weather conditions in each region.<\/p>\n<h2>The forecast for the coming weekend is still being finalised<\/h2>\n<p>Weather forecaster <strong>Nataliia Didenko<\/strong> Forecasts suggest that mild weather will continue through to Saturday and Sunday.
