Following yet another drone attack, part of the community was left without electricity, which disrupted the operation of the water supply system. Mayor Volodymyr Matselyukh announced that water would be supplied using backup generators: on the evening of 20 October and the following morning, unless the situation improves. Other settlements in the municipality have water, although the pressure in the network is low. However, residents may experience a drop in water pressure in the mains supply.<\/p>\n<h2>Russian drones attacked energy infrastructure in the Lviv region<\/h2>\n<p>Problems with the water supply have arisen following fresh Russian attacks on the region\u2019s critical infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>On 20 October, Russian forces continued to attack the Lviv region with drones, including rocket-powered ones. During the day, an energy infrastructure facility in the Novoyavorivska community came under attack once again.<\/p>\n<p>Following yet another strike, at around 2.00 pm, part of the community was left without electricity.<\/p>\n<p>Head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration <strong>Maxim Kozitsky<\/strong> reported that, as a result of the attacks, nearly 16,000 customers were left without power in the Yavoriv district, and over 1,200 in the Sheptytskyi district.<\/p>\n<p>Power supplies to customers in the Sheptytskyi district were subsequently restored. Emergency repair work continued in the Yavoriv district.<\/p>\n<p>A police officer was also injured during the air raid alert. The man was taken to hospital; no further details regarding his condition have been released.<\/p>\n<h2>Residents of Novoyavorivsk have been urged to stock up on water<\/h2>\n<p>Due to the limited water supply, the local authorities have advised residents to stock up on water for domestic use where possible.<\/p>\n<p>Volodymyr Matselyukh emphasised that municipal and emergency services are continuing to work on restoring the infrastructure.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u00abPlease do not panic; our services are working. We hope that we will be able to rectify the negative consequences of the enemy attack as soon as possible,\u00bb said the mayor.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Reports are also circulating on social media about people actively buying up bottled water in supermarkets in Novoyavorivsk. However, there is currently no independently verified information regarding a widespread shortage of drinking water in retail outlets.<\/p>\n<h2>When will the regular water supply be restored?<\/h2>\n<p>The local authorities have not yet given a specific date for when Novoyavorivsk will resume a round-the-clock water supply.
