The strike caused a fire, which the emergency services managed to bring under control. According to preliminary reports, there were no fatalities or injuries. Photographs released show damage to the building\u2019s structure and signs of a major fire.<\/p>\n<div class=\"news-summary-box\"><strong>Briefly about the main points<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On 25 October, Russian troops attacked a retail outlet in Zaporizhzhia.<\/li>\n<li>The crash occurred at around 06:00, after which a fire broke out.<\/li>\n<li>Rescue workers have brought the fire under control.<\/li>\n<li>According to preliminary reports, there are no fatalities or injuries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2>The attack on Zaporizhzhia on 25 October: what is known<\/h2>\n<p>At around 06:00 on Sunday, 25 October, Russian forces struck one of Zaporizhzhia\u2019s commercial premises. A fire broke out on the premises following the strike.<\/p>\n<p>The attack was reported by the co-chair of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Defence Council <strong>Ivan Fedorov<\/strong>. According to him, units of the State Emergency Service managed to contain the fire. Preliminary reports suggest that no one was injured as a result of the impact.<\/p>\n<p>Photographs released by the Zaporizhzhia Regional Defence Council show damage to the building\u2019s cladding, signs of fire and the destruction of certain structural elements. Rescue workers were at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>The name of the commercial premises, its exact location and the extent of the fire have not been officially disclosed. Furthermore, there is as yet no confirmed information regarding the type of weaponry used in this attack.<\/p>\n<h2>Russia continues to attack civilian infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia<\/h2>\n<p>The morning attack was a continuation of the intense Russian shelling of Zaporizhzhia and the surrounding region.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout 24 October <strong>Russian forces carried out 832 strikes on 55 settlements in the region<\/strong>. According to the regional authorities, four people were injured as a result of these attacks.<\/p>\n<p>The highest number of strikes were carried out by <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/viyna\/ataka-zaporizhzhia-18-zhovtnia-zahynula-zhinka\/\">drones<\/a> \u2014 625 attacks. In addition, six missile strikes on Zaporizhzhia, 18 air strikes on settlements in the region, and shelling from multiple launch rocket systems and tube artillery were recorded.<\/p>\n<p>The authorities have received 50 reports of damage to residential buildings, cars and infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>These figures relate to the previous reporting period and do not imply that the injured were specifically wounded during the morning attack on the commercial premises on 25 October.<\/p>\n<h2>The consequences of Russian shelling of the Zaporizhzhia region<\/h2>\n<p>According to the regional office of the State Emergency Service, five fires linked to emergencies broke out in Zaporizhzhia and its suburbs on 24 October. Emergency services extinguished fires in vehicles, buildings and other structures.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 82 rescue workers and 23 pieces of equipment were deployed to tackle the fire.<\/p>\n<p>Separate reports indicated that the city\u2019s infrastructure had been damaged as a result of missile strikes. In particular, Russian forces attacked the DniproHES area, following which traffic across the dam was temporarily restricted.<\/p>\n<p>As of the morning of 25 October, the fire at the shopping centre in Zaporizhzhia that had come under attack had been contained. There is as yet no information on whether the fire has been completely extinguished, the final extent of the damage, or the possibility of the building being
