An emergency medical team on its way to an emergency call came under fire. According to preliminary reports, there are casualties.<\/p>\n<p>The attack was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force, the Kyiv City Military Administration and the capital\u2019s mayor, Vitali Klitschko. There are also reports of damage to the \u00abLisova\u00bb metro station, residential buildings and a block of the State University of Trade and Economics. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/science-tech\/ukraine-testuye-new-balistic-rakety-fp-7\/\">ballistic missiles<\/a> were travelling towards Kyiv from the Chernihiv region. Shortly afterwards, explosions were heard in the city.<\/p>\n<p>Mayor of the city <strong>Vitali Klitschko<\/strong> He reported on the activities of the air defence forces and urged the people of Kyiv to stay in safe places. According to Vitali Klitschko, the medical team was on its way to an emergency call when it came under fire.<\/p>\n<p>The mayor confirmed that there were reportedly casualties. There is also no official information regarding new restrictions on train services following the attack on 26 October.<\/p>\n<h2>Power and internet outages following the strike<\/h2>\n<p>Following the explosions, reports began to emerge of power cuts and disruptions to internet access in certain parts of Kyiv.<\/p>\n<p>According to preliminary information, one of the possible targets of the Russian attack was the capital\u2019s energy infrastructure. However, there is currently no confirmed information regarding damage to specific energy facilities during the evening strike on 26 October.<\/p>\n<p>Energy companies and local authorities must determine the causes of the power cuts, the extent of the damage and any potential changes to the electricity supply.<\/p>\n<p>As of the evening of 26 October, the full extent of the damage caused by the Russian attack is still being assessed.
