Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed that the bridge had been hit, after which traffic was halted in both directions and services on the green metro line were restricted. Temporary changes to public transport services have been introduced in the capital, and passengers are urged to take these into account when planning their journeys.<\/p>\n<div class=\"news-summary-box\">\n<p><strong>Briefly about the main points<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On the night of 27 October, Russian troops attacked the South Bridge in Kyiv.<\/li>\n<li>Klitschko confirmed that the bridge and the underground infrastructure had been damaged.<\/li>\n<li>Traffic on the South Bridge has been temporarily suspended in both directions.<\/li>\n<li>The Green Line of the underground is operating with restrictions due to damage to the above-ground section.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2>What is known about the attack on the South Bridge<\/h2>\n<p>On the night of 27 October, Russian troops once again <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/main-news\/kyiv-balistychna-ataka-27-zhovtnia\/\">attacked Kyiv<\/a> ballistic missiles. Following a series of explosions, the mayor <strong>Vitali Klitschko<\/strong> reported on <strong>strike on the South Bridge<\/strong> across the Dnieper.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the shelling, the bridge structure itself sustained damage, in particular to the infrastructure of the Syrets\u2013Pecherska metro line, which runs across the bridge. There were also reports of damage to the road surface and structural elements of the bridge.<\/p>\n<p>According to initial reports, <strong>At least three ballistic missiles could have struck the bridge<\/strong>. At the same time, the fact that the infrastructure was hit and damaged has been officially confirmed, but the exact number of missiles that struck the bridge has not yet been established.<\/p>\n<p>The relevant services are on site. Services across the Dnipro were suspended.<\/p>\n<p>However, at 06:36, the Kyiv City State Administration announced further changes. According to the updated information, Green Line trains are running between \u00abSyrets\u00bb and \u00abVydubychi\u00bb stations, whilst services on the \u00abOsokorky\u00bb\u2013\u00abChervonyi Khutir\u00bb section have been temporarily suspended.<\/p>\n<p>On the Red Line, services have resumed between \u00abAkademmistechko\u00bb and \u00abLisova\u00bb stations. All stations on this section are open to passengers.<\/p>\n<h2>The South Bridge has been closed: what changes this means for drivers and buses<\/h2>\n<p>The patrol police have announced a temporary closure of the South Bridge to all vehicles in both directions. The restrictions were introduced following a night-time attack and the discovery of damage.<\/p>\n<p>Due to the closure of the crossing <strong>The routes of bus numbers 22 and 91 have been changed<\/strong>. Their march was organised across the Darnytsia Bridge.<\/p>\n<p>The Kyiv City State Administration has also announced an increase in the number of buses on these routes. On route No. 22, 14 buses are to be deployed, five of which will operate on a shortened route between Trostyanetska Street and the \u00abLybidska\u00bb metro station. Seven buses will operate on route No. 91.<\/p>\n<p>To ease the pressure on the underground, temporary bus route No. 1-M is also being reinforced, with 15 buses scheduled to operate on it.<\/p>\n<p>The city authorities advise drivers and passengers to plan their journeys in advance and allow for possible delays.
