The authorities have drawn particular attention to footage of the South Bridge: this could enable the Russian military to assess the consequences of the strike. The bridge is closed to road traffic, and metro services across it have been suspended.

Briefly about the main points

The Kyiv City State Administration’s statement is addressed to the media, Telegram channels and social media users.

The city advises people to use images published by official bodies.

We recommend removing any previously published material containing sensitive details.

The South Bridge is being inspected following the attack; the road is closed to traffic.

There are temporary changes to services on the Green Line of the underground.

Close-up footage may reveal the results of the strike

KSCA explained that detailed images of strategic transport facilities pose a risk to the capital’s security. Photographs and videos may show the extent of damage to infrastructure, the nature of the damage, vulnerable sections of a structure, or the progress of emergency repair work.

The Russian military may use such material to analyse the consequences of missile and drone strikes and to prepare subsequent attacks. That is why this appeal is addressed not only to news organisations, but also to the administrators of news channels and private users of social media.

Earlier, on 5 October, the Kyiv City State Administration, in conjunction with the Security Service of Ukraine, also urged people not to publish material revealing the consequences of attacks, the operations of the air defence system, the locations of military personnel or the movements of military equipment.

The city advises people to refer to official documents

For news articles, the Kyiv City State Administration recommends using material released by official bodies. Any images previously published should be removed if they contain sensitive information regarding the status of strategic facilities.

The city administration has issued a reminder of the liability – including criminal liability – for disseminating certain information about the consequences of enemy attacks. At the same time, the legal consequences of a specific publication depend on its content and the circumstances of its dissemination: a photograph of the bridge alone does not automatically give rise to criminal liability.

Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code, in particular, this concerns the unauthorised dissemination, under martial law, of information regarding the deployment, movement or location of the Defence Forces, unless such information has been made public by the General Staff.

The South Bridge is being inspected; traffic is restricted

On the night of 27 October, Russian forces launched a missile strike on Kyiv. The following were damaged: Southern Bridge and the underground network. The Mayor Vitali Klitschko He said that experts were inspecting the building to assess the extent of the damage.

As a result of the attack, road traffic across the South Bridge has been closed. Metro trains are not running across the bridge, and temporary changes to services have been introduced on the Green Line. As the bridge connects the road crossing with the surface section of the Green Line, technical solutions regarding road and metro traffic require separate assessments.

According to the latest figures from the city authorities, one person has been killed and a further 14 injured in Kyiv as a result of Russian attacks since the evening of 26 October. Nine of the injured have been hospitalised. Further decisions regarding traffic management are to be announced by the city authorities and the relevant services.

A photograph of the bridge does not automatically lead to criminal liability, but the Kyiv City State Administration warns of the risks associated with sharing sensitive data.

Фото мосту не означає автоматичної кримінальної відповідальності, але КМДА попереджає про ризики поширення чутливих даних.
[806778
806775
post-34922","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-suspilstvo","tag-806775
["GET
