Dmytro Razumkov, a Member of Parliament who has repeatedly called for limits on high salaries for public officials, was reportedly absent during the vote on the relevant amendment to the 2027 state budget. The initiative proposed setting a maximum monthly salary of 80,000 hryvnias, but failed to secure the necessary parliamentary support.<\/p>\n

Razumkov did not take part in the vote on the salary cap<\/h2>\n

During the proceedings state budget<\/a> For 2027, the Verkhovna Rada rejected Amendment No. 1003 concerning the capping of salaries in the public sector.<\/p>\n

The initiative proposed setting a maximum monthly salary of 80,000 hryvnias for members of parliament, judges, prosecutors, National Bank staff and other public officials.<\/p>\n

The amendment did not secure the required 226 votes. 157 MPs voted in favour of it.<\/p>\n

According to widely reported information on the results of the roll-call vote, Dmytro Razumkov<\/strong> was absent. The reasons for his absence during the consideration of this particular amendment are currently unknown.<\/p>\n

Razumkov had previously called for a cap on high salaries for civil servants<\/h2>\n

Question. payment restrictions<\/a> Razumkov had been raising these issues with government officials for several years. In particular, he supported an initiative to cap the salaries of officials and the management of state-owned enterprises at ten times the minimum wage.<\/p>\n

In his public speeches, the MP criticised the high remuneration paid to heads of state bodies and members of supervisory boards, who, according to the examples he cited, could earn between 300,000 and 700,000 hryvnias a month.<\/p>\n

Razumkov also called for an increase in payments to military personnel and a fairer allocation of budget funds.<\/p>\n

The Verkhovna Rada has rejected an amendment to the 2027 budget<\/h2>\n

Amendment No. 1003 was considered on 28 October during the vote on proposals for next year\u2019s national budget.<\/p>\n

The document provided for salary caps in the public sector, but did not apply to those directly involved in Ukraine\u2019s defence.<\/p>\n

Following consideration of the amendments, parliament approved the draft state budget for 2027 at first reading. 239 MPs voted in favour of the bill, whilst 25 voted against it.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
