The Darnytsia Bridge also bore a significant load.<\/p>\n<p>Due to the closure of the South Bridge, motorists are having to change their usual routes, which is putting additional strain on neighbouring streets.<\/p>\n<p>Residents of the capital are reporting lengthy delays on their way to work. Some Kyiv residents are using electric scooters to avoid traffic jams on routes accessible to such vehicles.<\/p>\n<h2>Damage to the South Bridge has affected the metro service<\/h2>\n<p>During the <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/viyna\/pivdennyi-mist-kyiv-ataka-27-zhovtnia\/\">Russian attack<\/a> On the night of 27 October, the road and rail infrastructure of the South Bridge was damaged. As a result, train services on the Green Line of the metro across the Dnipro have been temporarily suspended.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Kyiv Metro, on 27 October, trains ran separately between the \u00abSyrets\u00bb and \u00abVydubychi\u00bb stations, as well as between \u00abOsokorky\u00bb and \u00abChervonyi Khutir\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>To facilitate passenger transport by land, the city has introduced additional services and altered the routes of certain bus services.<\/p>\n<h2>People in Kyiv spend up to two and a half hours travelling<\/h2>\n<p>According to a report by the \u00abKyiv24\u00bb television channel on 28 October, due to transport restrictions, some residents of the capital took up to two and a half hours to get home.<\/p>\n<p>Road transport is operating under increased pressure, and buses on busy routes may be delayed along with other vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>For journeys between the two banks, drivers mainly use the Darnytsia Bridge, the Paton Bridge and other available crossings, subject to the restrictions currently in force.<\/p>\n<p>Experts are continuing to carry out repair work on the damaged transport infrastructure.
