Russian State Duma passes law on sending reservists to \u00abprotect critical facilities\u00bb<\/h2>\n

Russian State Duma approved the draft law in three readings in one day<\/strong>, which allows reservists to be sent for \u00abspecial training\u00bb to protect critical infrastructure and life support facilities.<\/p>\n

Who are the reservists<\/h3>\n

Reservists are defined as citizens who have previously served in the military or worked in the security forces and voluntarily signed a contract to serve in the reserve.
Officially, it is stated that such persons are not planned to be sent to the frontline, but they may be called up to serve at strategically important facilities.<\/p>\n

\u00abYear-round conscription\u00bb also became law<\/h3>\n

In addition, MPs finally passed a law on year-round conscription. Formally, conscripts will be sent for service in spring and autumn, but registration and preparation of documents will continue throughout the year.<\/p>\n
