According to the American Automobile Association (AAA), on 28 October the average price of a gallon of diesel stood at $6.35 \u2014 seven cents more than on the day the deal was announced. Despite promises to increase supplies of Russian fuel, diesel prices in the US remain close to record highs. As of 29 October, the average price had fallen slightly to $6.33 per gallon.<\/p>\n<div class=\"news-summary-box\"><strong>Briefly about the main points<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On 9 October, Trump announced an agreement with Putin on the supply of Russian diesel.<\/li>\n<li>At the time the deal was announced, the average price of diesel in the US was $6.28 per gallon.<\/li>\n<li>On 28 October, the price of fuel rose to $6.35, and on 29 October it cost around $6.33.<\/li>\n<li>Russia has promised to supply over 300,000 tonnes of diesel and to increase volumes in the coming months.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2>How have diesel prices changed following the agreement?<\/h2>\n<p>9 October <strong>Donald Trump<\/strong> declared about <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/politics\/tramp-putin-uhoda-udary-npz-ukraina-axios\/\">reaching an agreement<\/a> \u0437 <strong>Vladimir Putin<\/strong> regarding additional supplies of Russian diesel fuel. A further 500,000 tonnes were planned for November, followed by an additional million tonnes.<\/p>\n<p>To implement the agreement, the US Treasury Department has temporarily authorised transactions involving Russian diesel, easing the sanctions restrictions imposed in response to the war against Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>The decision drew criticism from the Ukrainian president <strong>Vladimir Zelensky<\/strong> and some US lawmakers, who had warned of the risk of additional revenue for Moscow.<\/p>\n<h2>Why has Russian fuel not led to a fall in the price of diesel in the US?<\/h2>\n<p>Even after the deal was announced, energy analysts warned that the proposed volumes were insufficient to bring about a sustained fall in global prices.<\/p>\n<p>The situation is being exacerbated by disruptions at Russian oil refineries, export restrictions and tensions in the global energy market.<\/p>\n<p>According to experts\u2019 estimates, the volume of Russian supplies provided for under
