Taiwanese technology giant Foxconn is in talks regarding a new partnership with OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT. The company is expanding its production of artificial intelligence servers and is already using humanoid robots at its facilities in the US.<\/p>\n
Chairman of Foxconn Yung Liu<\/strong> stated during the annual technology presentation in Taipei that he had met with OpenAI\u2019s CEO, Sam Altman.<\/p>\n According to him, the companies are working on a new partnership, which they will announce once the details have been finalised. The specific terms and financial details of the future agreement have not yet been disclosed.<\/p>\n Foxconn and OpenAI<\/a> are already collaborating in the field of artificial intelligence infrastructure. In November 2025, the companies agreed to jointly develop server racks, components and equipment for data centres.<\/p>\n The initial agreement did not provide for any mandatory purchases or financial commitments. At the same time, OpenAI was given the opportunity to evaluate new equipment and purchase it.<\/p>\n Against a backdrop of investor concerns about excessive spending on artificial intelligence, Jung Liu stated that he does not consider the sector to be speculative bubble<\/a>. He predicts that Foxconn will maintain double-digit growth rates in 2027.<\/p>\n The company is the world\u2019s largest contract electronics manufacturer and a leading supplier of servers to Nvidia.<\/p>\n In the second quarter of 2026, the cloud and networking products division, which includes AI servers, generated 51% in revenue for Foxconn. For the first time, this business accounted for more than half of the company\u2019s total revenue.<\/p>\n Foxconn has six production facilities in Houston, Texas, where it manufactures servers for Nvidia.
