He was accompanied by the first President of the Supreme Court, Zbigniew Kapi\u0144ski, and representatives of the President\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>A scuffle broke out at the entrance to the building, involving <strong>Navrotskyi<\/strong> and the tribunal judges. A video recording of the incident was subsequently posted on social media. Representatives of the president and the other side accused each other of physical altercations.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement released on the morning of 31 October, Nawrocki described the events as a violation of Poland\u2019s constitutional order and a \u00abforcible takeover of a constitutional state body\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>He called for the police to be withdrawn from the premises and announced urgent consultations with representatives of the political parties in parliament to stabilise the situation.<\/p>\n<h2>Why did the police cordon off the Constitutional Tribunal?<\/h2>\n<p>The standoff escalated on the evening of 30 October, when law enforcement officers stepped up security at the building amid the protests.<\/p>\n<p>The police explained that they had received a request from the Attorney General <strong>Waldemar \u017burek<\/strong> and the judges <strong>Anna Korwin-Piotrowska<\/strong> regarding potential threats to the lives and health of the tribunal\u2019s staff.<\/p>\n<p>During the protests, some participants climbed over the institution\u2019s fence and threw objects at the police. The police reported that three people had been arrested.<\/p>\n<h2>The removal of the management has sparked a new conflict<\/h2>\n<p>Judge Anna Korwin-Piotrowska announced that Bogdan Swienczkowski, the tribunal\u2019s president, and his deputy, Bart\u0142omiej Sokhanski, had been suspended from their duties for one month.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, Poland\u2019s Prosecutor General, Waldemar \u017burek, has filed five applications to have their judicial immunity lifted. Four of these relate to \u015awi\u0119ckowski, and one to Sokhansky.<\/p>\n<p>Prime Minister <strong>Donald Tusk<\/strong> He described the restoration of the rule of law as the government\u2019s duty
