Someone once asked me if I\u2019d married my sister. Do you know what I said? No. I swear, I didn\u2019t marry my sister,\u00bb said the president.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>He then spoke of his two sisters, one of whom died in 2023.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u00abI had two wonderful sisters; now there\u2019s just one left \u2014 Elizabeth. She\u2019s lovely. But I never proposed to either of them,\u00bb said Trump.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The American president also added that, despite the sisters\u2019 physical attractiveness, he had never felt any romantic attraction towards them.<\/p>\n<p>He made these remarks during a speech to Republican Party supporters on the eve of the US mid-term congressional elections.<\/p>\n<h2>Why did Trump start talking about marrying his sister?<\/h2>\n<p>The reason for this unusual digression was the long-standing allegations against Ilhan Omar \u2014 a Democratic Party representative from Minnesota who was born in Somalia.<\/p>\n<p>For many years, claims have been circulating in conservative political circles in the US that Omar married her brother <strong>Ahmed Nur Said Elmi<\/strong> to obtain immigration benefits.<\/p>\n<p>The Member of Congress has repeatedly rejected these allegations, calling them unfounded. It was after this that he gave the example of his sisters.<\/p>\n<h2>What is known about Donald Trump\u2019s sisters?<\/h2>\n<p>The US President had two older sisters \u2014 <strong>Marianne Trump Barry<\/strong> and <strong>Elizabeth Trump Grau<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Marianne served as a federal judge for many years. She died on 13 November 2023 at the age of 86.<\/p>\n<p>Elizabeth Trump Grau, a former banking professional, generally keeps out of politics and public events.<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s speech took place four days before <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/world\/papa-rymskyi-lev-xiv-proholosuvav-vybory-ssha\/\">by-elections<\/a> in the US, scheduled for 3 November.
