Sustained wind speeds were 100\u2013110 km\/h, with individual gusts reaching 120 km\/h.<\/p>\n<p>The storm has formed over the Bay of Bengal, where warm waters encourage the formation of powerful tropical cyclones. According to weather forecasters, the states of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu are likely to be hardest hit by the storm.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/world\/taifun-champi-taivan-977-aviareisiv-23-zhovtnia\/\">Meteorologists<\/a> A warning has been issued regarding heavy rainfall and possible flooding in low-lying coastal areas. It also caused damage to homes, infrastructure and farmland.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Associated Press, the recent bad weather has flooded approximately 200,000 acres of agricultural land \u2014 over 80,000 hectares.<\/p>\n<p>A second wave of natural disasters is hampering reconstruction work in areas that have not yet recovered from the previous damage.<\/p>\n<h2>What is the situation in India at the moment?<\/h2>\n<p>As of 3 November, Cyclone \u00abMurasu\u00bb is gradually weakening after making landfall, but heavy rain and the risk of flooding persist.<\/p>\n<p>Emergency services are continuing to monitor the situation, whilst local authorities are assessing the extent of the damage.
