Following a series of explosions, fires broke out at industrial sites across the city. According to reports from local residents and monitoring channels, the targets included Rosneft\u2019s Ryazan oil refinery and the Wildberries logistics complex. Regional authorities confirmed the fires, damage to power lines and at least one casualty.<\/p>\n<div class=\"news-summary-box\"><strong>Briefly about the main points<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On the night of 4 to 5 November, a large number of drones launched a massive attack on the Russian city of Ryazan.<\/li>\n<li>Following the explosions, fires broke out at industrial sites, including, in all likelihood, an oil refinery.<\/li>\n<li>There are reports of a possible strike on the large Wildberries logistics complex near the town.<\/li>\n<li>The regional authorities have confirmed one casualty and damage to the electricity network.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2>The Ryazan oil refinery came under attack from drones<\/h2>\n<p>A large-scale attack on the Ryazan Region began during the night of 5 November. At around 3.00 am local time, an air-raid alert was declared in the region. Residents of Ryazan reported numerous explosions, the sounds of air-defence systems in operation and drones flying overhead.<\/p>\n<p>Videos of a major fire soon appeared on social media. The footage shows bright flames and thick plumes of black smoke rising above the industrial area.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Russian Telegram channel ASTRA and Ukrainian monitoring sources, one of the targets of the attack was <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/world\/ryazan-vybukhy-aerodrome-npz-23-10-2025\/\">Ryazan Oil Refinery<\/a>, which forms part of Rosneft.<\/p>\n<p>Governor of the Ryazan Region <strong>Pavlo Malkov<\/strong> He confirmed that fires had broken out on the premises of industrial enterprises in the regional capital as a result of falling drone debris. However, he did not specify which facilities had been damaged.<\/p>\n<h2>A fire has reportedly broken out at the Wildberries warehouse<\/h2>\n<p>In addition to the oil refinery, a large logistics centre belonging to a Russian marketplace may have come under attack <strong>Wildberries<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>According to preliminary reports, the facility in question is the \u00abRyazan: Tyushevskaya\u00bb sorting complex, located in the \u00abRyazansky\u00bb industrial park near the village of Tyushevo.<\/p>\n<p>The warehouse complex covers an area of approximately 173,000 square metres. The facility is used for sorting and distributing goods for the marketplace.<\/p>\n<p>Local news sources are reporting a fire on the premises of the logistics centre. However, as of the morning of 5 November, there has been no official confirmation from Wildberries that the warehouse has been damaged again.<\/p>\n<p>This property has already been subject to <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/world\/ataka-na-sklad-wildberries-u-riazani\/\">drone strike<\/a> 29 July 2026. Following the attack, a fire broke out, staff were evacuated and operations at the logistics complex were temporarily suspended.<\/p>\n<h2>Power lines have been damaged in Ryazan; one person has been injured<\/h2>\n<p>Pavlo Malkov reported that one person was injured as a result of the night-time attack. They are receiving the necessary medical treatment.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, power lines have been damaged. Power cuts have occurred in parts of Ryazan, and emergency repair teams have been called in to restore the supply.<\/p>\n<p>At around 04:05, a disruption to the electricity supply was reported in the Moskovsky district of the city. According to local electricity suppliers, the power supply was fully restored at 06:35.<\/p>\n<p>The Russian authorities also reported damage to private homes in the Ryazan district and a fire in a non-residential building in the Rybnovsky district.<\/p>\n<p>Classes have been cancelled at School No. 58 in Ryazan due to damage to the windows. Residents have been urged to limit their movements where possible whilst the emergency services deal with the aftermath of the attack.<\/p>\n<h2>The Ryazan Oil Refinery accounts for almost 5 per cent of Russia\u2019s oil refining capacity<\/h2>\n<p>The Ryazan Oil Refinery is one of the largest companies in the Russian oil industry. The refinery is situated approximately 200 kilometres south-east of Moscow and is part of the Rosneft group.<\/p>\n<p>His <strong>the design capacity exceeds 17 million tonnes of oil per year<\/strong>, which accounts for around 5 per cent of Russia\u2019s total oil refining capacity.<\/p>\n<p>The company produces motor petrol, diesel and aviation fuel, fuel oil, bitumen and other petroleum products. Its products are used both in the civilian sector and to meet the needs of the Russian economy and armed forces.<\/p>\n<p>The Ryazan Oil Refinery has already been hit by drones on several occasions. In particular, following the attack on 15 May 2026, the plant was forced to suspend operations.<\/p>\n<p>The latest strike came amidst yet another series of attacks on Russian oil infrastructure. In early November, drones also struck the \u00abSlavneft-YANOS\u00bb oil refinery in Yaroslavl.<\/p>\n<p>The extent of the damage to the Ryazan Oil Refinery following the attack on 5 November, as well as the potential impact on its production capacity, has not yet been determined.
