Following a series of explosions in the industrial zone, a fire broke out and thick smoke rose above the plant. Local residents reported that air defence systems were in operation, whilst flights at Krasnodar Airport were temporarily restricted.<\/p>\n<div class=\"news-summary-box\"><strong>Briefly about the main points<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On the night of 5 November, drones attacked the Afipsk oil refinery in the Krasnodar Region.<\/li>\n<li>Following a series of explosions in the industrial area, reports were received of a fire and smoke.<\/li>\n<li>Flights have been temporarily restricted in Krasnodar, and explosions were also heard in neighbouring Adygea.<\/li>\n<li>The Afipsk oil refinery has previously been attacked on several occasions, including in June 2026.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2>A fire broke out following the explosions at the Afipsk oil refinery<\/h2>\n<p>The first reports of explosions in the Krasnodar Region began to come in shortly after 1 am local time. Residents of nearby towns and villages heard air defence systems in operation and sounds resembling explosions.<\/p>\n<p>According to Exilenova+, one of the targets of the attack was the Afipsk oil refinery, located in the Seversky District near Krasnodar.<\/p>\n<p>A video of a fire in an industrial area has been posted online. Eyewitnesses also reported thick smoke, which, they said, was spreading towards Krasnodar.<\/p>\n<p>According to reports from monitoring organisations, the fire was still burning during the early hours of 6 November.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, it is not known for certain which specific facilities within the refinery may have been damaged. There is currently no information regarding a halt to production or any casualties.<\/p>\n<p>As of this morning, the local authorities in the Krasnodar Region had not officially confirmed that the factory had been hit.<\/p>\n<h2>Flights were restricted in Krasnodar, and explosions were also heard in Adygea<\/h2>\n<p>The drone attack was accompanied by reports of explosions in other parts of southern Russia.<\/p>\n<p>In particular, local residents reported loud noises and fires in the neighbouring Republic of Adygea.<\/p>\n<p>Amid the threat posed by drones, flights to and from Krasnodar Airport have been temporarily suspended. The relevant restrictions were introduced by Rosaviatsiya.<\/p>\n<p>Monitoring channels also reported an air threat to the Stavropol Krai and certain districts of the Krasnodar Krai.<\/p>\n<h2>The Afipsk oil refinery has been attacked on several occasions<\/h2>\n<p>The Afipsk oil refinery is one of the major enterprises in the oil industry in southern Russia. It is situated near Krasnodar and produces diesel fuel, petrol and other petroleum products.<\/p>\n<p>The facility has been the target of drone attacks on numerous occasions during Russia\u2019s full-scale war against Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>In particular, on 11 June 2026, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/viyna\/zsu-atakuvaly-npz-afipskyj-ta-punkty-upravlinnya\/\">Damage to the Afipsk oil refinery<\/a>. A fire also broke out at the plant at that time, and the Russian authorities attributed the blaze to falling drone debris.<\/p>\n<p>The latest attack on the Afip plant was preceded by reports of a strike on <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/world\/ryazan-ataka-droniv-npz-wildberries-pozhezha\/\">Ryazan Oil Refinery<\/a> 5 November. Following the explosions, a fire was observed in the vicinity of the factory, although the extent of the damage remained unknown.<\/p>\n<p>As of the morning of 6 November, the Ukrainian military
