An Iranian official, speaking on condition of anonymity, did not specify whether the document envisages restrictions on uranium enrichment or what commitments Tehran is prepared to undertake as part of a possible agreement.<\/p>\n<p>On 5 November, during a visit to Russia, a high-ranking Iranian official <strong>Mohsen Rezaei<\/strong> stated that Tehran had already communicated seven non-negotiable conditions to Washington. Until these are met, Iran will not agree to resume negotiations or fully reopen <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/world\/iran-oman-hormuz-temporary-corridor\/\">Strait of Hormuz<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The demands set out include the lifting of US sanctions, the return of frozen Iranian assets and the payment of compensation for war-related losses. The Iranian side has not published a complete, up-to-date list of the seven points.<\/p>\n<p>Tehran had previously already <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/world\/iran-umovy-vidkryttia-ormuzkoi-protoky\/?utm_source=chatgpt.com\">put forward seven conditions<\/a> to normalise shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, linking the resumption of traffic to the lifting of the US naval blockade.<\/p>\n<h2>Washington is insisting on discussions regarding the nuclear programme<\/h2>\n<p>The positions of the US and Iran remain at odds, primarily regarding the sequence of the negotiations. Washington is demanding that the issue of Iran\u2019s nuclear programme be included in the initial phase of the consultations. Tehran, on the other hand, insists that the US must first meet its political and economic demands.<\/p>\n<p>In recent days, mediators have stepped up contacts between the countries amid fears of a resumption of hostilities following <a href=\"https:\/\/ukrmedia.news\/en\/politics\/respublikantsi-vymahayut-trampa-zminyty-kurs-vybory-ssha\/\">US mid-term congressional elections<\/a>. President <strong>Donald Trump<\/strong> He had previously not ruled out further military operations against Iran, whilst Tehran warned of a more extensive response should US strikes resume.<\/p>\n<h2>The war between the US and Iran and the situation in the Strait of Hormuz<\/h2>\n<p>The current conflict began on 28 February 2026 following strikes by the US and Israel against Iran. In response, Tehran attacked Israel and the Gulf states, on whose territory US military bases are located. The fighting subsequently spread to Lebanon, whilst the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen began attacking energy facilities and airports in Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n<p>The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the main topics of the negotiations. This maritime corridor links the Persian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman and is of strategic importance for global oil supplies. Iran is using the issue of the full resumption of shipping as one of the key conditions for an agreement with the US.<\/p>\n<p>Tehran\u2019s previous seven-stage plan envisaged an end to the US naval blockade, the easing of restrictions on Iranian oil exports and the subsequent resumption of negotiations. In early November, the Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that the proposed measures could be implemented within two days of an agreement being reached.
