In Kyiv, two fraudsters \u00absold\u00bb a non-existent \u00ablaser weapon\u00bb to an American volunteer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for UAH 3.2 million<\/h2>\n

In Kyiv, two men 74-year-old local resident<\/strong> and his 59-year-old accomplice<\/strong> - cheated an American volunteer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine<\/strong>, promising to create a \u00ablaser weapon<\/strong>\u00bb to destroy enemy drones.
They claimed to have access to \u00absecret technologies\u00bb and could develop a system capable of shooting down even ballistic missiles<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

We trusted them, and the volunteer handed over to the fraudsters UAH 3.2 million<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Police investigations<\/h3>\n

\u00abThe foreign soldier never received the \u00bbdevelopment\".
After several weeks of waiting, he turned to law enforcement, who found that no project existed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

According to the investigation, both fraudsters acted deliberately and distributed the funds among themselves.
Criminal proceedings were opened against them for Part 4 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (fraud on a large scale)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Both offenders face up to 12 years in prison<\/strong> with confiscation of property.
