Gripen fighters to be produced in Ukraine in 2033 - Shmyhal<\/h2>\n

Prime Minister Denis Shmygal<\/strong> said that production of Gripen fighters will start in Ukraine in 2033<\/strong>.
Relevant memorandum of cooperation<\/strong> was signed today between Ukrainian company<\/strong> and the Swedish aircraft manufacturer SAAB<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u00abThis is a strategic event that paves the way for the creation of high-tech aviation production in Ukraine in line with NATO standards,\u00bb Shmyhal said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

What does the memorandum provide for<\/h3>\n

The document covers:<\/p>\n

    technology transfer and staff training<\/strong>,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Creation of production facilities in Ukraine<\/strong>,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    gradual expansion of production localisation<\/strong>,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    as well as joint maintenance of Gripen aircraft<\/strong>, which will be used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    At the first stage, Ukraine is expected to participate in Component assembly and maintenance<\/strong>, and then in full production cycle<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    The Gripen is one of the most effective multi-role fighters in the world, capable of operating from short strips and responding quickly to changing air conditions.
