Suspect in misappropriation of UAH 5.8bn in assets of fuel and energy company detained<\/h2>\n

As reported by Office of the Prosecutor General<\/strong>, law enforcement officers detained a man who was in the international search<\/strong> on suspicion of seizure of property on an especially large scale<\/strong> (Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).<\/p>\n

According to the investigation, the 2017-2022<\/strong> officials of an oil refinery<\/strong> together with related commercial entities, organised a scheme for the illegal alienation of fuel and lubricants.<\/p>\n

How the scheme worked<\/h2>\n

Fuel and lubricants were transferred to commercial firms without payment<\/strong>. The oil products were then sold on the market, and the proceeds were transferred to the accounts of the scheme participants.<\/p>\n

To legalise the transactions, the parties entered into the following agreements fictitious contracts<\/strong> with the condition of deferred payments \u00abup to two years after the end of martial law\u00bb<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Losses and detentions<\/h2>\n

As a result of these actions, the company suffered losses of more than UAH 5.8 billion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

After being served with a notice of suspicion in 2024, the man fled abroad<\/strong>, but On 7 November 2025, he was detained<\/strong>. At the request of prosecutors, the court has already chose a preventive measure<\/strong>.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
