Double-decker passenger cars to be launched in Ukraine<\/h2>\n

\u0423 Ministry of Finance of Ukraine<\/strong> said that in 2026<\/strong> launch is planned double-decker passenger cars<\/strong> as part of long-distance trains.<\/p>\n

According to the agency, this initiative will allow optimise passenger transport costs<\/strong> and increase economic efficiency of Ukrzaliznytsia's operations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Why new cars are being introduced<\/h2>\n

The double-decker cars will be able to carry twice as many passengers<\/strong> on the same routes, which will reduce the number of flights and maintenance costs.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Finance notes that the new rolling stock model will be energy-efficient<\/strong>, and its production is partially planned to be localised in Ukraine.<\/p>\n

\n

Outlook.<\/h2>\n

The first cars are to be tested as early as by the end of 2025<\/strong>, after which a gradual launch will begin on popular routes - primarily between Kyiv, Lviv and Odesa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
