A new heating season is approaching in Ukraine.<\/strong> Traditionally, it begins when the average daily temperature stays below +8\u00b0C for three days. According to forecasters, in most parts of the country this may happen in mid-October, although in the southern regions the heat may be supplied later.<\/p>\n

Tariffs for households<\/h3>\n

The Cabinet of Ministers assured that tariffs for heat and hot water will remain unchanged<\/strong> for households. According to the law in force during martial law, local authorities are not allowed to raise prices for households until the end of the 2025 heating season.<\/p>\n

\u00abThe state assumes responsibility for protecting people from tariff increases in this difficult period,\u00bb the government said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

At the same time, tariffs for businesses may be revised depending on the costs of heat production.<\/p>\n

Preparing for the season<\/h3>\n

Local authorities are already reporting on the completion of repairs to boiler houses, inspections of heating networks and the creation of emergency teams. Particular attention is being paid to regions affected by Russian attacks on energy infrastructure.<\/p>\n

According to Naftogaz representatives, the company has accumulated the necessary gas reserves to get through the heating season. More than 15 billion cubic metres have already been accumulated in underground storage facilities, which, according to experts, is sufficient to ensure stable supply of the population.<\/p>\n

Possible risks<\/h3>\n

Despite the government's guarantees, experts warn that localised interruptions in the supply of heat or hot water, especially in large cities, cannot be ruled out due to Russia's continued attacks on the energy system. Therefore, local authorities are advised to prepare contingency plans, including the use of mobile boilers and alternative energy sources.<\/p>\n
