International Atomic Energy Agency (<strong data-start=\"385\" data-end=\"395\">IAEA<\/strong>) stated that <strong data-start=\"409\" data-end=\"449\">three Ukrainian nuclear power plants<\/strong> - Khmelnytskyi, Rivne and one more not specified in the report - <strong data-start=\"509\" data-end=\"557\">lost connection to high-voltage lines<\/strong> after the massive Russian shelling on 18 November.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"611\" data-end=\"768\">The explosions and damage to the energy infrastructure caused <strong data-start=\"672\" data-end=\"711\">instability of external power supply<\/strong>, which is critical for the safe operation of reactors.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"770\" data-end=\"773\" \/>\n<h2 data-start=\"775\" data-end=\"809\">Reducing reactor capacity<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"810\" data-end=\"985\">The IAEA notes that as a result of the loss of part of the power lines <strong data-start=\"870\" data-end=\"890\">4 out of 9 reactors<\/strong> at two NPPs - Khmelnytskyi and Rivne <strong data-start=\"935\" data-end=\"984\">were forced to operate at reduced capacity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"987\" data-end=\"1016\">Such measures are applied to:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1018\" data-end=\"1146\">\n<li data-start=\"1018\" data-end=\"1061\">\n<p data-start=\"1020\" data-end=\"1061\">stabilising the operation of cooling systems,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1062\" data-end=\"1104\">\n<p data-start=\"1064\" data-end=\"1104\">minimising the risk of emergencies,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1105\" data-end=\"1146\">\n<p data-start=\"1107\" data-end=\"1146\">adaptation to reduced power supply.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr data-start=\"1148\" data-end=\"1151\" \/>\n<h2 data-start=\"1153\" data-end=\"1189\">The situation remains tense<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1190\" data-end=\"1429\">The IAEA emphasised that Russia's strikes on energy infrastructure create <strong data-start=\"1265\" data-end=\"1289\">\u00abunacceptable risks\u00bb<\/strong> for the nuclear safety of Ukraine.<br data-start=\"1318\" data-end=\"1321\" \/>The Agency is in regular contact with Ukraine's Energoatom and is ready to provide support.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1431\" data-end=\"1604\">Russian attacks on key substations and power lines result in nuclear power plants losing part of their backup power supply,
