According to her, the released Ukrainians are already being handed over to representatives of Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"508\" data-end=\"759\">Lukashenka's regime claims that the decision was made \u00abat the request of the Ukrainian side\u00bb and allegedly \u00abin furtherance of the agreements reached between US President Donald Trump and Lukashenka\u00bb. As of now, there is no official confirmation from Ukraine.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"761\" data-end=\"789\">What is known about the released prisoners<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"791\" data-end=\"1055\">Most Ukrainians have been detained by the Belarusian security services in recent years on trumped-up or politically motivated charges, including \u00abespionage\u00bb, \u00abextremism\u00bb or \u00abdisturbing public order\u00bb. Some of them were held in pre-trial detention for over a year.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1057\" data-end=\"1182\">Eismont said that all 31 people were \u00abpersonally pardoned by Lukashenko\u00bb and handed over to the Ukrainian side \u00abwithout additional conditions\u00bb.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1184\" data-end=\"1207\">Political context<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1209\" data-end=\"1286\">The statement about the \u00abLukashenko-Trump agreement\u00bb may indicate an attempt by Minsk:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1288\" data-end=\"1451\">\n<li data-start=\"1288\" data-end=\"1347\">\n<p data-start=\"1290\" data-end=\"1347\">to show its role in the new geopolitical negotiations;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1348\" data-end=\"1411\">\n<p data-start=\"1350\" data-end=\"1411\">to receive political dividends by demonstrating a \u00abhumane gesture\u00bb;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1412\" data-end=\"1451\">\n<p data-start=\"1414\" data-end=\"1451\">influence the US position on sanctions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1453\" data-end=\"1570\">Analysts note that the regime uses political prisoners as a bargaining tool -
