Russia has struck a massive blow to energy infrastructure in six regions - Energy Ministry<\/h2>\n

Russia has launched a massive combined attack on energy infrastructure facilities in a number of regions of Ukraine. This was reported by Ministry of Energy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Kyiv, Kyiv region, Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava and Kharkiv were hit.<\/p>\n

Scale of the blackout<\/h2>\n

According to the Ministry of Energy:<\/p>\n

\u2022 over 500,000 consumers<\/strong> power was cut off in the city of Kyiv;
\u2022 more than 100,000 consumers<\/strong> - in the Kyiv region;
\u2022 almost 8,000 users<\/strong> - in the Kharkiv region.<\/p>\n

Several regions reported emergency damage to grids, substations and generation facilities.<\/p>\n

Blackouts across the country<\/h2>\n

The Ministry of Energy reports that today in all regions of Ukraine<\/strong> apply schedules of hourly outages<\/strong> due to grid overload and electricity shortages.<\/p>\n

Power engineers and emergency crews are working in an intensive mode. They are working on localising the damage and switching the load to backup lines.<\/p>\n
