This was reported by <em data-start=\"426\" data-end=\"437\">Bloomberg<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"440\" data-end=\"651\">According to sources, the US administration insists that <strong data-start=\"490\" data-end=\"569\">frozen assets of russia should remain a lever for reaching a peace agreement<\/strong>, instead of being used now as a financial resource to support Ukraine's defence.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"653\" data-end=\"664\">Details<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"665\" data-end=\"842\">Washington believes that the early seizure or lending secured by Russian assets could deprive the West of an important tool of pressure on Moscow during possible negotiations.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"844\" data-end=\"1055\">European governments, for their part, are divided: some countries support the immediate use of assets to help Ukraine, while others do not want to deepen the conflict with the US and fear legal consequences.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1057\" data-end=\"1070\">Context.<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1071\" data-end=\"1293\">The EU was considering granting Ukraine a loan worth tens of billions of euros under the guarantee of profits from the frozen assets of the Russian central bank.
