Details of the draft law<\/h2>\n

The new support package includes $400 million annually in 2026 and 2027<\/strong> to strengthen Ukraine's defence capabilities. The funding will be used to purchase weapons, train the Ukrainian military and strengthen security systems.<\/p>\n

U.S. lawmakers emphasise that the aid should provide stable support to Ukraine in the face of Russia's ongoing aggression and the need for long-term defence planning.<\/p>\n

Context.<\/h2>\n

The US emphasises that the new two-year funding format will avoid the delays and uncertainty that previously arose during the approval of annual budgets. Presidential Administration Donald Trump<\/strong> continues to work on reforming the mechanisms of defence assistance to allies.<\/p>\n
