Law enforcement exposed a network selling counterfeit equipment of well-known international brands<\/strong>, which operated throughout Ukraine. This was reported in the Office of the Prosecutor General<\/span><\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Details of the scheme<\/h3>\n

According to the investigation, individual entrepreneurs advertised and sold counterfeit equipment through websites<\/strong>. Buyers were offered:<\/p>\n

    headphones,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    smartwatches,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    other electronic goods under the guise of original ones.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Order sent by postal operators throughout Ukraine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Results of the searches<\/h3>\n

    During the authorised searches of Kyiv region<\/strong> law enforcement officers seized over 4 thousand units of counterfeit and falsified products<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    The investigation established that the goods had low quality, <\/strong>labelling and packaging did not meet the standards, <\/strong>manufacturing and branding were carried out without the permission of the copyright holders<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Damages incurred<\/h3>\n

    Preliminary size material damage to international companies exceeds UAH 30 million<\/strong>. As a result of law enforcement actions the violated rights and interests of trademark owners were restored<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Legal aspect<\/h3>\n

    Investigative actions are ongoing in the framework of criminal proceedings. Law enforcement agencies are identifying all persons involved in the organisation and operation of the scheme.<\/p>\n
