Baltic states prepare bridges to be blown up due to threat of Russian attack<\/h2>\n

Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia are considering mining and preparing bridges for explosions on the borders with Russia and Belarus due to the growing risk of a military attack by Russia. This was reported by the Lithuanian broadcaster LRT<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

As the Minister of the Interior of Lithuania noted Richard Kozlovskis<\/strong>, The installation of high-tech equipment is already underway at the border areas, and critical infrastructure is being put on high alert.<\/p>\n

Strengthening Baltic defence<\/h3>\n

According to the Lithuanian side, bridges and other transport facilities can be used as a deterrent in the event of a direct invasion. This refers to scenarios in which infrastructure must be quickly disabled to prevent the advance of enemy forces.<\/p>\n

Latvia, in its turn, has fully completed the physical fortification of the border with Russia, having built 280-kilometre barrier fence<\/strong>. The country's authorities say that defence measures are complemented by surveillance systems, motion sensors and other modern means of control.<\/p>\n

Poland is preparing an \u00abanti-drone wall\u00bb<\/h3>\n

In parallel with the Baltic states, Poland is also significantly building up its defence capabilities on the eastern direction. According to The Guardian<\/strong><\/em>, By mid-2026, the country plans to deploy the so-called \u00abanti-drone wall\u00bb<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The project envisages the creation of a multi-level system for detecting and destroying drones. It will include:<\/p>\n

    Warsaw stresses that these steps are a response to the experience of the war in Ukraine and Russia's active use of drones.<\/p>\n
