Emergency and hourly power cuts in Ukraine due to attacks and frost<\/h2>\n

Emergency power outage schedules are applied in Kyiv and Kyiv region, as well as in Odesa, Kharkiv and Donetsk oblasts. Their duration may vary depending on a significant drop in air temperature. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Energy Roman Andarak<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

According to him, the power system continues to operate under increased load after another massive Russian attack.<\/p>\n

Current situation in the power system<\/h3>\n

As of today, the following consequences have been recorded in Ukraine:<\/p>\n

    Night attack on the energy sector:<\/strong> power outages in Odesa, Zhytomyr, Sumy, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipro and Chernihiv regions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Kyiv and Kyiv region:<\/strong> a gradual transition from emergency restrictions to predictable hourly outage schedules is underway.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Bad weather:<\/strong> 161 settlements in Kyiv region, 48 in Zakarpattia region, 36 in Dnipro region and 15 in Chernihiv region remain without electricity supply.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Most regions:<\/strong> hourly power outage schedules are in place.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Power engineers continue emergency repair and stabilisation works.<\/p>\n

    Comment by the Ministry of Energy<\/h3>\n

    Roman Andarak<\/strong> stressed that during severe frosts, the load on the power grid increases dramatically, which can affect the duration and frequency of outages. Citizens are urged to use electricity rationally, especially during peak hours.<\/p>\n

    Context.<\/h3>\n

    Russia has been systematically targeting Ukraine's energy infrastructure with the aim of destabilising the energy system in winter. Weather conditions, such as lower temperatures and bad weather, further complicate network operations and recovery processes.<\/p>\n
