Parliament extends martial law and mobilisation until 4 May 2026<\/h2>\n

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has decided to extension of martial law and general mobilisation until 4 May 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Solution details<\/h3>\n

The majority of MPs voted for the relevant resolutions during the plenary session. The extension will be valid for another 90 days<\/strong> after the end of the previous term.<\/p>\n

The decision was made against the backdrop of the ongoing full-scale war and the need to maintain the country's defence capability.<\/p>\n

What does martial law entail?<\/h3>\n

The martial law regime allows the state to apply special legal mechanisms, in particular:<\/p>\n

    restriction of certain rights and freedoms of citizens;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    enhanced security measures;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    coordinating the actions of the authorities in times of war.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Mobilisation<\/h3>\n

    The continuation of mobilisation ensures the manning of the Ukrainian Defence Forces and maintaining their combat capability. Mobilisation measures remain a key element of the country's defence policy.<\/p>\n
