After the January attacks on Kyiv, one of the CHP plants was critically damaged and cannot be restored<\/h2>\n

One of the thermal power plants in Kyiv suffered critical damage as a result of Russian strikes on 9, 13, 20 and 24 January and is virtually beyond repair. This was reported by the sources of the publication RBC-Ukraine<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

According to RBK-Ukraine's sources, the damage to the facility is systemic and involves key equipment. Due to the scale of the damage, repairs are considered economically and technically impractical.<\/p>\n

Sources describe the situation as one of the most difficult for the capital's power system<\/strong> for the entire duration of the full-scale war. Some of the equipment was destroyed or seriously deformed as a result of repeated strikes.<\/p>\n

Implications for the power system<\/h3>\n

The loss of one of the CHPPs means:<\/p>\n

    Reduced heat supply capacity<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    additional load on other power facilities<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    increased risks during peak loads, in particular in winter<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    At the same time, the relevant services are working on redistribution of capacities<\/strong> and alternative solutions to ensure stable operation of the system.<\/p>\n

    Russia has been systematically attacking Ukraine's energy infrastructure in an attempt to leave cities without heat and electricity.
