Russian oil transit through Ukraine will continue until 2029<\/h2>\n

Ukraine will not terminate the existing contract for the transit of Russian oil<\/strong>, which is valid until 2029<\/strong>. This was stated by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denis Shmygal<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, commenting on the issue of oil transportation via the Druzhba pipeline.<\/p>\n

Transit volumes<\/h3>\n

According to Shmyhal, in 2025, Ukraine transported about 9.73 million tonnes of Russian oil through the southern branch of the Druzhba pipeline<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

It is on 14% less<\/strong>, than in 2024, when transit volumes were 11.36 million tonnes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Slovakia<\/span><\/span><\/strong> - almost 4.9 million tonnes<\/strong>, that on 24% more<\/strong>, than in 2024;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Hungary<\/span><\/span><\/strong> - 4.35 million tonnes<\/strong>, that on 8% less<\/strong>, than last year.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Other volumes were transported in transit to Central Europe under existing contracts.<\/p>\n

    Context.<\/h3>\n

    Oil pipeline \u00abDruzhba\u00bb<\/strong> remains one of the key routes for oil supplies to the EU. Ukraine is fulfilling its international obligations<\/strong> on energy transit, while the European Union is gradually reducing its dependence on Russian resources as part of its sanctions policy.<\/p>\n

    The government emphasises that the issue of transit is regulated by long-term contracts<\/strong>, and all decisions are made with due regard to national interests and European legislation.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
