This year's main Christmas tree in Kyiv will be in pastel colours. A skating rink, fairground houses and a recreation area with hot drinks will be set up nearby.

A 16-metre Christmas tree from Dobropark to be installed on Sofiiska Square - opening on 6 December

Kyiv. This year the main Christmas tree of the capital will be installed on Sofia Square - It will be brought from Dobropark near Kyiv. The height of the tree will be 16 metres, reports Kyiv News.

Installation of the structure will begin 15 November, а The grand opening is scheduled for 6 December, on St Nicholas Day.

According to the organisers, this year's Christmas tree will be decorated with toys in pastel colours, with modern lighting and themed photo zones.

A festive town

Around the Christmas tree will be arranged rink, fairground huts and a relaxation area with hot herbal teas.
It is also planned to install a festive stage for small concerts and performances by children's groups.

The organisers emphasise that the main goal of this year's New Year's Village is to create an atmosphere of warmth, unity and hope despite the difficult times for the country.
