Starting from 1 January 2026, fuel excise taxes will increase in Ukraine, which will lead to Increase in petrol and diesel prices by about UAH 1.5 per litre. This was announced by the director of A-95 Group« Sergey Kuyun.

According to him, the increase in excise rates is provided for tax changes, The government has introduced a number of amendments to bring Ukrainian legislation closer to European standards. In particular, the rate for petrol will increase from the current 213.5 euros to 250 euros per 1000 litres, and for diesel - with 139.5 to 200 euros.

«The actual price increase will be about UAH 1.5 per litre. This is the result of the gradual alignment of excise taxes with European standards,» the expert explained.

According to market analysts, the change in excise taxes may also affect demand structure, In particular, to encourage some drivers to switch to cars with lower fuel consumption or hybrid models.
