Temporarily occupied ZNPP lost power from one high-voltage line
At night, as a result of hostilities temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant lost power supply from one of the high-voltage lines, reported in the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
According to the ministry, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russian shelling power lines were repeatedly damaged, which is already 12 times led to full or partial blackout at ZNPP. The last time a similar situation occurred was less than a month ago.
Electricity supply is critical for Maintaining safety and cooling systems for reactors, even in shutdown mode. Any violation of it creates additional risks to nuclear safety.
The Ukrainian side has repeatedly stressed that The militarisation of ZNPP and shelling of the infrastructure around the plant is a direct threat not only to Ukraine but to the whole of Europe.
As of now, the situation at the facility is under control, and specialists are monitoring the power supply and safety conditions.
