ZNPP power supply restored

Temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) came out of the tenth complete blackout, which lasted almost 30 days.
This was reported by Minister of Energy of Ukraine Oleksandr Hrynchuk.

«Power engineers managed to restore external power supply to ZNPP after a long shutdown. The plant has come out of blackout, but remains under the control of the occupiers,» said Hrynchuk.

Details of the situation

Due to constant shelling by Russian troops power lines to ZNPP were repeatedly damaged, The power supply to the plant was cut off, causing complete blackouts.
Over the past month ZNPP operated in minimum safety mode, using diesel generators to cool reactors and support critical systems.

«Each such blackout is a huge risk for nuclear safety not only in Ukraine but also in Europe,» the Minister stressed.

Security risks

Zaporizhzhya NPP the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, and any prolonged power outage could result in loss of control over reactor cooling systems.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has repeatedly stated that The situation at ZNPP remains extremely dangerous, calling on Russia to restore Ukrainian control over the facility.

Context.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war ZNPP completely lost external power 10 times, This is an unprecedented case in the global nuclear power industry.
Ukrainian power engineers are constantly working on restoration of power lines, Despite the shelling and occupation pressure.
